Assistent des technischen Direktors – ALIZÉ - Abteilung Residenztheater

Wir suchen derzeit einen Assistenten des Technischen Direktors, dessen Aufgabe es ist, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Direktor der Show die technischen Abteilungen der Show zu leiten und zu verwalten. Das Hauptziel des Assistenten des Technischen Direktors ist die Aufrechterhaltung eines sicheren und konsistenten Showbetriebs für alle Vorstellungen und den täglichen Betrieb der Show, einschließlich des täglichen Trainings und der Inszenierung bei gleichzeitiger Unterstützung der normalen Aufgaben und Bedürfnisse des technischen Teams sowie des nächtlichen technischen Show-Call-Betriebs. Der ideale Kandidat ist eine starke Führungspersönlichkeit mit ausgezeichneten Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, die in der Lage ist, die technischen Showteams aufzubauen und zu entwickeln.

The Assistant Technical Director will:
- Support the Technical Director in day-to-day operations; Oversee technical operations (sound, lighting, set, rigging, automation, projections, etc.);
- Assist Technical Director with departmental budget, ordering and receiving of goods needed for operations;
- Manage Departmental Leads and oversee weekly scheduling of all department crew;
- Assist the Technical Director and Production Services in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and inspections – particularly Life Safety and Show Critical;
- Ensure all maintenance and inspection records are kept in compliance with Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group established policies and standards;
- Work with technical management to establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity of performance operations of the department in the event of unexpected failure of a system, component or piece of equipment;
- Contribute to integrating, training and developing team members including being an instructor for Health and Safety courses when needed;
- Work closely with the Technical Director on all HR related issues to include Talent Dialogues, Coaching and Progressive Discipline;
- Assist the Technical Director in coordinating special projects, including the research, purchase and installation of specialty technical related items both for show applications and for needs of the showroom and other stage departments;
- Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the on-going needs of the production;
- Liaise with local facilities team on building an infrastructure matters;
- Address any work injuries that occur during the shift;
- Adhere to and actively promote all applicable German occupational safety and health regulations, including DGUV standards, the Arbeitsschutzgesetz (ArbSchG), and industry-specific guidelines, to ensure the safe operation of all technical and performance-related elements of the production; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods;
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances;
- Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
- Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- At least five years of previous experience in a technical management position on large-scale theatrical productions, touring or special events;
- Working knowledge of theatrical technologies;
- Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time;
- Professional appearance and demeanor;
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- Strong mechanical drafting skills, knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an asset;
- Previous experience working with maintenance programs;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Ability to operate or train to operate various lifts and heavy equipment like forklifts;
- A Meister (Buehne, Beleuchtung, Veranstaltung) certification is a considerable asset;
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; with an international cast the operational language will be English;
- Verification of the right to work in Germany for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
